It was brought to Council’s attention that there is still an issue with sewer smell in the location of the first manhole on Main Street South.  Further research is required.  Results will be brought back to next meeting.

Trans & Works update

MHA Derrick Bragg has requested funding from the Minister of Transportation and Works to resurface a section of Main Street between the School and Howell’s Avenue Intersection. 

Trans and Works supervisor in Lumsden advised next week the asphalt plant will be in Lewisporte and they will be repairing roads (potholes) in Carmanville then.

Public Works:           Water Report

The Water Report from Government Services for the month of June was satisfactory and within guidelines.

 

Screen Cleaning

Screens were cleaned on July 27th, 2019.  The Report and pictures were presented to and reviewed by members.

 

Line Flushing

Flushing of the main waterline is scheduled for July 15 – 17, 2019.  Notices will be mailed to residents as per policy.  A Boil Order Advisory will be issued effective July 15th, 2019 as per requirements.

 

Curbside Collection

Further research is required and information will be brought back to the next meeting for further discussion.

 

Waterline Repairs Main Street

A meeting will be set up for July 5th, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. between the Public Works Committee members, Outside Worker and Resident to investigate the problem and determine possible solutions to recommend to Council at the next meeting.
