Agenda:                      “Pothole” and “Garbage by Roadside” were added to the Agenda under “Public Works”.

Arising:                      Demolition Order

Resolve to award the contract to demolish the house to D & M Services Ltd. as the Town Backhoe is not capable of doing the demolition.

Driveway/culvert installation

The location of the driveway has changed so the culvert will not cover the waterline in question. An extension to the curb stop will be required.

 

Loader Recall

Toromont Cat advised that the parts for the recall are on order. When the parts are in, a technician will come here to do the work involved at no cost to the town.

 

Hydrant by School

Approval was given to use the hydrant by the school for a presentation by DFO and Forestry on Monday, June 18th, 2016 during the Come Home Year festivities.

 

Construction at 107 Main St. South

Newfoundland Power technician advised the owner that the construction had to be moved 8 to 10 feet back from the powerline. If there are any issues with rock, the technician will revisit.

Compost Bin

It was agreed to wait until the next full meeting of Council to decide a location for the Compost Bin on the Municipal Grounds.

Reviewed by members and found to be within guidelines.

Submitted by Outside Worker and reviewed by members.

 

                                    Potholes (Added to Agenda)

Clerk/Manager will notify Highways that the pothole on Noggin Cove Road is deep and dangerous. Further that it must be repaired before Come Home Year starts on Monday.

 

                                    Garbage by Roadside (Added to Agenda)

Clerk/Manager will contact 3 residents regarding garbage piles on their property and ask them to remove the debris before Come Home Year starts next week.

 

Fire Dept:                  CD Player

The Fire Dept. CD Player that was used at the Interp. Center during Canada Day will be returned to the Fire Dept. tomorrow.

New Business:           Permit request – Extension to house

Request to build an extension to house at 47 B Main Street was approved as per policy and Accessory Building Permit Regulations.

Four candidates were chosen by members to represent Central at the upcoming 2016 Premier’s Forum. Results will be forwarded to MNL tomorrow.   (Deputy Mayor Peddle arrived at the meeting at 8:45 p.m.)

Business:                    Come Home Year Official Opening

Deputy Mayor will officiate at the Come Home Year Opening Ceremonies as the Mayor is working and unable to attend. It was also agreed to close the Town Office at 11:00 a.m. so the staff can attend.
