CANADA SUMMER JOBS 2014

1 POSITION - TRAINEE 1 MAINTENANCE


7 WEEKS @ 35 HOURS/WEEK (From July 7th to August 23rd, 2014)

 

Criteria:
- must be between 15 and 30 years of age
- must be registered as a full time student in previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full time basis in the next academic year.
- must be a Canadian Citizen

 

Workers must provide their own Safety Boots and Work Gloves. Hard hat, safety vest and safety glasses will be provided by the Employer.

 

Resumes may be dropped off at the Town Office

The Carmanville Habitat Committee has
4 Positions available

 

- 2 INTERPRETER & 2 TRAIL GUIDE POSITIONS

 

for 7 Weeks @ 35 Hours/Week
Shift and Weekends

 

Applicants must have attended school during the past academic year and must be returning to school or going to a Post Secondary Institute in the fall of 2014.


Proof of same may be requested.

 

Duties:    Interpreter/Tour Guide
                Craft Shop Worker
                Trail/Lawn/Building Maintenance
                Other duties as required

 

Workers must provide their own safety boots, work gloves, rain clothes, sun screen and insect repellant.
(Hard Hats and Safety Glasses will be provided.)

The Carmanville Recreation Committee has 2 Positions Available:

 

2 - Rec. Coach/Labourer Positions for 7 weeks @ 35 hrs/week


Applicants must be returning to school or going to a Post Secondary Institute in the fall of 2014 in order to qualify. Proof of same may be requested.

 

Hard Hats & Safety Glasses will be provided. All other safety gear (Safety Boots/Gloves) is the responsibility of the EMPLOYEE.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:


- develop and implement recreational programs for children
- develop and implement a senior citizens recreational program
- help organize and run community day activities
- labour work (raking, spreading gravel, painting, landscaping, etc.)
- assist in organizing and running the Summer Festival
- other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)

 

DESIRED QUALITIES:


- good oral and written communication skills
- good organizational skills
- good interpersonal relationship skills
- ability to work under minimum supervision
- enjoy working with children of all ages
- enjoy working with senior citizens
- enjoy both indoor and outdoor recreational activities
- responsible and mature
- good overall work ethic
- babysitters course and/or St. John Ambulance First Aid Course definite asset
