Re: New Variant of COVID Virus – Reinstatement of Level 5
As you are aware from the Broadcast on February 12th, 2021 the new variant of the COVID Virus has now been confirmed in our Province. Since this variant is far more infectious, The Chief Medical Officer of Health has reinstated Level 5 for the whole Province. In this regard, the Town will continue to provide essential services while protecting our residents and workers to the best of our ability.
The Garbage Collection will continue as normal on Wednesdays.
Council meetings will be held by electronic means only - not in person. Fire Department, Habitat and Recreation Meetings will also be held by electronic means only.
We realize how difficult and stressful this setback is for everyone considering how well we were doing as a Province until this past week. We now have to be more careful than ever to stop the spread of this highly infectious variant. Please follow the Chief Medical Officer of Health’s guidelines and stay home, stick to your bubble, practice physical distancing and connect with others virtually or from a distance.
We have been in this position before and did extremely well in flattening the curve. Let’s work together to get this variant under control and stop the spread. Stay safe everyone.
NOTICE

Did you know?
- Indiscriminate dumping is an ongoing problem in our community
- The cost to clean up the indiscriminate is borne by the town – your tax dollars are going towards cleaning up somebody else’s mess
- That if the person doing the indiscriminate dumping can be determined, he/she can be forced to clean up the mess and can also be fined
Following are pictures taken around our community of indiscriminate dumping. In some areas, it is very difficult, maybe impossible to clean up the debris due to the location.

If you know who is responsible please do the right thing and report them. Let’s take pride in our community and work together to make it a better, cleaner place to live.
